I have to beg the question of why in nearly all movies depicting violence and abuse of this kind it is always women at the receiving end of it? what does this say about the human enjoyment of watching it? what would be different about this if it were men?
Acknowledges women as vulnerable subjects in society, yes but beyond that -_-
The only other movies I can think of that give this treatment to men is the Saw franchise
