This movie "'[i]s bad!' 'Woyce, 'uman.'"
Here we are shown that simple characters don't have to be bad, or boring or a sign of poor writing. And look, they each don't need they're own half hour introductions so we feel connected to them. It's as though their actions speak for their characters.
It's hard for me not to give bonus points for Kurosawa and trains.
