I remember reading this book as a young girl and watching the film with my mother.
Now, over ten years later, I watched this movie for my grief and loss class. Through different stories…I saw some parallels between my own grief journey and Lily’s. It was strange..and special.
Watched in the theater with my husband and two dear friends.
Timothy C was great! Bob Dylan? A total ass.
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Thought Only Murders in the Building was out already, but I was one day off. So I watched this instead.
This film attempted to do what every film like this does-humanize a big star. To remind us that “Hey, I’m just like you. I didn’t always have this. I worked hard to get here.” Did it do that well? Eh. I feel like I learned a little about MGK, but it wasn’t anything new or necessarily crazy.
The surprise? Seeing…
My first time watching this. This film was truly groundbreaking at the time of its 1999 release.
Reinforces my disdain for AI and lack of desire for the metaverse.
The Rob Zombie song played at the club is still haunting me…I cannot figure out what I know that song from!
Overall a decent film. Eager to see how the rest go downhill from here.
