  Very true to the musical and a lot of fun. The CGI is pretty noticable against the practical effects, but it all fits an aesthetic that works pretty well alongside the whimsy. Also, the auto tune was pretty obvious in a few songs which was a bit less immersive. Overall though, this film does an excellent job keeping the heart of the musical while taking advantage of the big screen format to bring new life to this awesome story.

  Writing was all over the place and the pacing was jarring. The ending left a lot unresolved and was kind of sudden. Also the effects and ADR were pretty obvious in places.

  Funny though, had some good moments.

  The message is adorable, but the execution is confusing in its attempt to be whimsical. I was going to rate it lower, but I absolutely ate up the ending. 10/10 for cuteness though, and not just because of the power of Ryan Reynolds and John Krasinski.
