The great plus of this film is that it feels like something you've never seen before. Seeing it in the theater was a treat because, despite its lower resolution design personality, it really shows off well. The look is different than any studio film ever seen and with the effects, animation, and rendering a lot more simple, gives it a fresh new look. Modern animation usually doesn't thrill me but this one started out looking and feeling a little too familiar but around 15 minutes in, I guess at the end of act 1, it takes a turn and starts me guessing. With a few tropes that could have been more finessed, the story of fitting in while battling your demons both interior and exterior was really great. I could have done without the gay part of the story or had it feel a bit less like icing but hooray for not making just about being gay and yet ALL about being gay.

Enjoyable but could have been better. The best part is the acting job, especially of Paul G, who I'm not really a fan of but his every line and action was revealing its just too bad his revealing was mostly meaningless. The film was way to predictable to be truly enjoyable and many of the scenes were written without real grit, going nowhere and landing too soon.

The story worth seeing g is only a partial bit of the film and ALL the b stories are meaningless to the films wrap up. While trying to break black stereotypes in film and literature, the film delivers a sad, self loathing, promiscuous, irresponsible, gay stereotype. The music was really like a Lifestyle movie of the…
