  I like to imagine the amount of people who will ask ‘what do you think I would do?’ to their partner whilst watching this, starting a conversation that will allow them to experience the second half of the film in tandem with the characters on screen

  This film was intended to be the first part of a Paddington prequel trilogy called Origins: Paddington. The last two films were set to explore the bodged attempt at turning The Limping Man (played by Ben Whishaw) into a bear, resulting in him still being able to talk. Unfortunately the last two films were cancelled half way through production, with the script being hastily rewritten. I’m afraid to say this shows in the finished film, with the plot losing its way half way through.
