The Witches 1990
Huston stands out as the ultimate villainess, amongst the mediocrity of ‘The Witches’ and Dahl’s lingering anti-semitism.

Grand Theft Hamlet 2024
‘Grand Theft Hamlet’ holds your attention tight with its profound premise and unfeigned dialogue.

Jurassic Park 1993
Groundbreaking for its time, ‘Jurassic Park’ is sufficiently entertaining to remain timeless despite its faltering character development.

After I watched this film for the first time, I slept over at a friend’s house whose collection of marbles lit up by his bedside light looked like eyes staring at me while I tried to get to sleep.Translated from by -
Get Out 2017
Peele’s Get Out is a nightmarishly metaphorical slippery slope of Kaluuya trusting the oh-so-innocent liberal “colourblind”, much like other progressives and racialised people.
A good range of the micro aggressions black men experience are explored here; from the sexualisation of them to the policing bias they face. And much like those micro aggressions, the little creepy instances add up to an exhausting experience.
Also slightly touches on the lack of attention given to missing racialised people compared with white women and girls.
Loved the complete subversion of the white saviour trope and how this time around there’s actually no white characters that are ‘good’.Translated from by
