one thing i realized while watching this is that what makes ghibli films so magical is the ways in which rules govern its world(s). there are patterns, rituals, to things that we may not understand, but we follow them anyway because we yearn for a structure we can’t seem to grasp within all this noise and chaos—and we pray it exists regardless.
