  I appreciated the moodiness and performances, but the movie simultaneously felt too long and not detailed enough regarding characters’ motivations (ironically enough). It’s a pretty average thriller.

  I unironically love these movies. Low budget, charismatic lead, mildly interesting lore. If I’m giving this guy $4 so that he can fly his tiny plane around, make an unboxing video, and stage ghost activity, then I think that’s $4 well spent.

  A prolonged, transcendent and terrifying depiction of a breakup, Midsommar is one of the high peaks of the recent upswing of art horror in cinema.

  This came at a very appropriate time in my life, and thus had a profound effect on me. The last ten to fifteen minutes of the film, drenched in symbolism and raving horror, produced a deep-seated shift in me. It has been a long time since a film has done so.
