Opulent, gorgeous, great danglar and villefort casting. Minus half star for no Jacopo or Luigi Vampa in a nearly three hour retelling. Also Mercedes was lacking a little magic/charm. But otherwise lovely

I just kept thinking about how much time Mikey Madison must have spent in scores/sapphire doing character study to complete transform her Disney channel self into a bonafide, heel clicking, night walking dancer, but man did she really nail the mannerisms, irrationality, heel-clicking, gooch shaking. Just watched this after Election Day and couldn’t help but notice that not only are the scientists/foundations/nerds pretty vilified here, but also really flips the script on diversity being presented in modern blockbusters. Like the diversity characters were either killed or really really annoying, in a way that it almost felt like a twist when glen powell was portrayed as the Everyman, charitable hero. Not overreaching, or Oscar batey, just a solid film. Brilliant pacing, beautiful shots, tension building score. Fiennes is awesome, lithgow somehow passes as a catholic cardinal. I think for any catholic, it really explores the mysteries of the church that we hear echoed throughout mass, and provides a human, modern theological examination of flawed people trying to execute on a celestial process
