Opus 2025
Great directorial debut for Mark Anthony Green. Ayo was amazing as expected and I loved Malkovich as the cult leader. Whoever’s idea it was to have his speech cadence be so monotonous was genius.
Looking forward to seeing Ayo take that next step into becoming a star. Also interested to see what Mark Anthony Green can do with a bigger budget.
Steph Shep was a sleeper 👏🏾

Mothers' Instinct 2024
Jessica Chastain and Anne Hathaway are amazing throughout. At times, it almost seems like they’re trying to outdo each other in a single scene. The worst part of this film is that, despite being only around 90 minutes, it felt like it lasted three times that! could’ve been presented in a different format, maybe an hour long show episode of some sort?

Heretic 2024
Three strong performances (tightly-knit, smaller casts have been my favorite as of late). Loved the writing and dialogue, especially the way a film like this can explore religion, the creator, etc.
As the film progressed, I definitely became less interested… at some point, it felt like the plot got lost, and the ending was eh.

Babygirl 2024
Amazing film that leaves no stone unturned. Halina Reijn’s writing is layered, and it’s brought to life skillfully by Romy (Nicole Kidman) and Samuel (Harris Dickinson). The power struggle is exhilarating from the start, and the film remains captivating the entire hour and fifty-four minutes, with heart-pounding sexual tension and brilliant social commentary.
Three additional notes:
Antonio Banderas, in his supporting role as Jacob, couldn’t have been more perfectly cast or portrayed. Job well done.
The line that sent shockwaves…
