Just kind of off putting, kids were not into it.

Was really loving this film for the first hour, the setting and tone are so good, looks like a Pacific Northwest Giallo but it loses something in the final act. I still really recommend it for a reminder of how much time, artistic vision and personality you can get into a lower budget movie.  Always a bit of a disappointment when something you are super digging doesn’t quite land but it is still quite good.

As my best buddy Kendal put so eloquently. Thanks, I hated it.

My movie club had to hear me rant about this enough. Though I think that it is a "cool" movie, at the end of the day, I think that the seeking to make a "cool" movie is actually what made me hate it.

Or maybe it was the dialogue?

    Or the acting?

    Or the characters?

Okay, okay, I give up! I just have to go with my gut on this one, since my brain doesn't understand why I hated it. I just did.

I'm conflicted how to rate this film. There were many things I really liked, but this was contrasted with many odd choices, primarily the casting of almost everyone except Chris Pine and Florence Pugh (who seemed to be acting in a different movie than everyone else).

I do think that in 10 years time this movie will be reclaimed as a B movie classic, especially as the aesthetic vision and high concept work perfectly when taken a bit less seriously than I think this movie wanted to be taken.
