Pretty conflicted with this film. On the one hand it does a great job of capturing a pivotal time and place in modern music - the climactic performance at Newport '65 being right up there with Woodstock in terms of cultural impact. Much like Elle Fanning's love interest Sylvie, I thoroughly enjoyed being whisked away on the carnival ride that was the early career of Bob Dylan.
