Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse 2023
I believe the first movie paved the way for mainstream animated films tailored towards a more adult audience, and this sequel perfected it.
This time around, they leaned so hard into the eclectic animation style and it worked out incredibly. I cannot wait for the next one.

The real genius here is that Ari Aster built a whole career directing incredible, genre-defining movies, then tricked us into watching his latest piece for a whole three hours just to hit us with a dick joke instead of a resolution.
Incredibly funny movie, when I wasn't grimacing I was laughing. There really is nothing quite like it.

Fire of Love 2022
It's almost hard to believe that some of the shots here weren't meticulously planned out, but rather were caught on film by a reluctant geologist and geochemist duo.
It is one part a fascinating 'behind-the-scenes' look at what's really happening during a volcanic eruption, and equal part a Romeo and Juliet esque tragedy, telling the love story of two people seemingly made for eachother.
Well worth a watch.
