Not me expecting this to be an emotional sci-fi romance like eternal sunshine just to be hit by the most weirdly and randomly cut experimental film lol. Definitely wasn’t in the right mood or mindset to watch this one, have to admit I was fighting off sleep from the middle. I’m still willing to understand it so might rewatch it in like 5 years.

During the first half of the film, I kept waiting for it to become more interesting and engaging, but it never did. Repetitive shots and gimmicks made everything predictable and unsurprising, to the point where I started to get bored and felt detached from the film. I was disappointed by how it failed at the first step to a good horror film, which imo is creating a sense of uncertainty.

One of the most intimate and special experiences I’ve ever had in a cinema. Just like his music, this film takes off all of the unnecessary elements, just showing Sakamoto’s true expression, letting us focus on it and connect with it on a deeper level that no other form can possibly do. Now that he’s gone, this will be the closest I got to watch him perform live. Thank you for your music, Mr Sakamoto. Ars longa, vita brevis.
