This work of art is what you get if you throw The Lighthouse, The Revenant, Looney Tunes and Nintendo in a blender. Although I enjoyed this immensely I kept wondering if this would have worked better in shorter form or smaller dosages. Probably not everyone's cup of tea, but anyone watching this has to admit it's very original.
This one easily makes the top 2 of best sci-fi movies starring Cailee Spaeny released in 2024.
Kidding aside, what can I say about this movie that hasn't been said already? It takes equal parts of Alien and Aliens, sprinkles it with elements from the subsequent sequels and tops it off with Fede Alvarez's secret sauce to create a new dish which fans of the franchise will love.
Really glad I watched it in IMAX because the lead role is for the magnificent visuals, which were stunning and full of awesome details. Honorable mentions for the sound design and David Jonsson's performance.
Finally got around to watching this classic horror movie. Which is more like a dark fantasy film than really horror, although opinions may differ on this. Really Spielbergian, which is good! Really loved how the sense of mystery and subtle paranormal clues escalated to a balls to the wall climax.
Also this has probably the most Star Wars imagery in a movie without having "Star Wars" in the title; it's almost like a two hour Star Wars merchandise commercial!
