I don’t think of myself as someone particularly cultural, but this film filled me with nostalgia for the country of my grandparents that I’ve never visited. It showed the classism and racism that’s so pervasive in their (our?) society and how people cope with love and sisterhood. There’s something so comforting about Desi sarcasm and the love that underlies it. And all the feelings it hides.

A Complete Unknown 2024
This felt like a bunch of short vignettes of Dylan songs, without much plot (though I guess it was really intense when Bobby D went rock at the Newport Festival)
I really enjoyed it because I love his music but I can’t say I’d recommend it to someone who doesn’t love the sweet gravely tones of darkness at the break of noon
