Most impressively scored movie I've seen in a while. Sprawling adventure with a fun cast of characters that kept my interest throughout. I do think knowing more of the lore would’ve enhanced it even more.

Nitpicks: that marriage scene thing with Aragorn and the elf felt a little out of place and why are these little hobbits getting any licks in on these perfect goblin-orc beings ? Shouldn’t they get slaughtered asap?? Anyways

Love the way it was shot in many moments, as the camera just seemed to linger on them from afar similar to how the two leads distanced their true feelings as they re-explored their connection in the present. Very raw, gritty movie examining emotions and I think the idea of closure, or justifying realities as they have turned out. I do think there may have been a slight cultural disconnect bc people be cheating out here.

This feels like a movie I’ll appreciate more with time as I experience more life

Also props to that husband for being secure af.

Being a sequel, the film’s plot lacks novelty, but makes up for it with creative directing including visually appealing set pieces (maybe a few too many), impressive camerawork, and some great gore. The car scene, especially, was a standout. The sequel maintains the same refreshing psychological depth as the first, but overall felt too invested in twisty jump-scares at times.

Couldn’t comprehended any dialogue and it was kind of redundant but Holden liked it so I’ll give it an extra star
