  This is the most confusing thing I’ve ever watched, yet after researching it, I saw how brilliantly it explores themes of identity, reality, and consciousness. Nearly flawless in execution, its religious imagery adds an eerie weight to Lain’s transformation.

  For its time, it was insanely ahead of the curve, practically predicting the internet’s evolution before it was a big thing. Even when I didn’t fully understand it, I was hooked. Loved it.
