All Quiet on the Western Front 2022
All Quiet on the Western Front was a fantastic anti-war war film, riddled with tense moments of corrupt leadership and heinous acts of war. The story of Paul is heart-breaking, and his journey though France during the First World War is such a stressful environment to watch.
One thing in particular this movie exceeds in is its’ sound design. It’s use of its’ leitmotif that slices though times of intense silence bring a harrowing defeat to many of the films…

Prey 2022
The Predator franchise has been riddled with bad sequels, reboots, and even spinoffs (looking at you Aliens VS. Predator: Requiem).
Prey has turned the table.
Every scene had my eyes wide, whether it be an invigorating and stressful action choreography or stunning cinematography. The pacing was excellent as the fights were quick and efficient, and yet the buildup was Hitchcock-ean.

Uncharted 2022
Preface: I have never played any of the Uncharted games, so I’m reviewing it as just another action/adventure movie.
Uncharted is… not bad; not great, but not bad either.
It’s plot is mostly predictable with scattered humor that does land, even if for a cheap laugh. The movie gets kinda campy (in a good way) in the ridiculous yet creatively fun third act.

My Octopus Teacher 2020
Every-time I log onto Netflix, I somehow stumble onto this documentary. Tonight, I decided to finally watch it. Friends of mine hyped up this movie to countless degrees. “One of the best documentaries, excellent nature cinematography, looks beautiful.”
