This movie starts like a dreamy vacation straight out of The White Lotus but quickly spirals into a psychological thriller that’ll have you squirming. James McAvoy is, as always, fantastic, and the rest of the cast delivers some seriously complex, messed-up characters.
The plot? It’s this slow-burn tension where everything feels off, but you can’t figure out why. You’ll feel awkward, anxious, and a little scared without even knowing what’s coming. It’s unsettling in all the right ways.
By the end, you’ll be gripping your wine glass just to cope. Haven’t seen a thriller this good in a while. Definitely worth the watch!

The Substance 2024
It’s like Kubrick, Lynch, and Carpenter came together to create something truly wild. This movie delivers body horror at its finest. Grotesque, yet thrilling. It’s been a while since I’ve seen a film push the boundaries like this. The way it turns beauty and decay into something both fun and terrifying is pure genius. Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley give the performances of their careers, breaking all limits. Themes of dysmorphia, the self, and the "other" as both ally and enemy weave throughout the film, adding layers of depth to the shock factor. It exceeded all my expectations!
