Solid, well-paced examination of four characters' relations to intimacy. The highlight of the film has to be James Spader, who completely sells Graham Dalton, the highlight of the script: this kind of guilt-ridden, ever-curious loner type who, setting aside the way he inverts control (& thus accountability) in his sexual encounters, actually ages incredibly well into a contemporary context.
