    Brb questioning my parental decisions.

Wow. Just wow. Easily one of the best things I’ve ever watched. Never before have I so uncontrollably burst into tears.

Why was this about my dad though???

Generational trauma is petrifying, all the fear and insecurity I’ve been experiencing about potentially becoming a parent one day just got magnified beyond comprehension. Bringing a human being into this rotten and cruel world seems to be a crime itself.

Hats of to Graham and 14y/o (!!!!) Cooper for delivering some of the best acting performances I’ve ever seen.

cinematography of a y2k Akon music clip.
tbh made it quite difficult to watch.

story was cool I guess, especially seeing how many of these tropes were later recycled and beat to death. ending was meh, but again, i’ve simply seen it hundreds of times since (hUmAnS aRe ThE ReaL mOnStErS).

one can never get enough of Brendan Gleeson.

Taliban Murphy is a no no.

    - will have to give Bergman another go, but with some preparation beforehand.

    - and I feel like I’ll be coming back to this one. Especially as parenthood…

    - Can’t believe I somehow accidentally chose to watch this directly after Autumn Sonata. A quite painful experience of complementarity.

    - Liv Ullmann and Marianne Jean-Baptiste delivered  such powerful performances embodying years and years of accumulated pain. Personally, I prefer the latter.

    - falling even deeper in love with Leigh’s work. I love the simplicity of the British working class world juxtaposed with universal truths. Need to see more!

    - hope to one day watch this from a position of…
