actually a really big fan of this movie, as weird or strange as it is. it probably isn’t everyone’s niche but i thought it was cool. the concept is something that’s always been interesting, especially since evil and paranormal activity is always linked to reflections and mirrors. the jaw ripping scene always sticks in my head (as comical as it is when you watch it back). overall, a decent horror film that i think most people should enjoy. ending was pretty rad too.

as a fan of the franchise itself, i was stoked to see this movie when it came out. and it definitely lived up to my expectations. i’ll admit, i didn’t know how they’d really go full circle with the tenth movie being set between saw 1 and 2, yet they did it flawlessly. the writing brought a great depth to john kramer outside of the malice. it was great (beyond happy) seeing amanda again. the traps were so cool and gruesome and bloody. loved this film. loved it.

a very weird, strange and off putting film, but sincerely meant as a compliment every which way. to start, great casting, especially with mia goth and alexander skarsgard. particular praise to mia because she’s been stellar in these horror roles. it’s a strange concept, a devious plot and it has just enough erotica and violence and horror to keep you guessing and wanting more. this film is the very definition of unhinged and if people are looking for a thriller…

never seen a movie so painfully desirable and be able to explain it as such. i have a good feeling that this will remain an underrated film, because most people who might watch it — they may deem it too heavy or too dark or that they don’t understand the point of it. i’ll go on record to even say that emily watson and stellan skarsgård are two incredible actors and this movie just furthers it. lars von trier has such a sensational approach to capturing perfect movies that just stick with you and this one does just that. heartbreaking. cruel. raw. definitive.
