Rewatched this to try and combat my burnout. Been so burnt out for years, I could not even watch movies without drifting off to my phone or taking constant breaks. Until I decided to rewatch this to fight my burnout.
This is what I've been looking for in modern cinema. This is what modern cinema needs more of. Thank you, Damien Chazelle, for giving me hope in chasing my dreams once again, in a world full of harsh cynicism.
I gotta rewatch this again as a double feature with Whiplash, which I never saw before.
Don't tell anyone that Studio Ghibli worked with the producers of Emilia Pérez before.
All jokes aside, this movie is really good and one of Ghibli's most underrated. It's their most unorthodox film (having no dialogue, being done in a ligne claire style similar to The Adventures of Tintin comics, being far more surreal than their other films, and being a French-Japanese-Belgian co-production), but it's still worthy of being part of the Studio Ghibli Collection.

As someone who feels lost and confused about themself, someone who did not have the happiest childhood, and someone who still feels like they haven’t fully matured yet, this film is extremely important to me.
