Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop 2020
i enjoyed it more as a series of colourful illustrations (with the odd animation) than an actual movie. preferred the loosely connected nature of the first half to the more structured, and obvious, narrative of the second half. felt like it went on longer than it needed to. it was sugary as its name implies but i dont have much of a sweet tooth

we'll its certainly the best sonic movie. jim carrey continues to be incredibly grating in every single scene. sonic is the most boring version of him in existence. knuckles continues to be a flanderised one note idiot. tails is cute. sonics human family is pointless.
but they did my boy shadow right and when live and learn kicked in as sonic and shadow went super i felt like a 13 year old girl playing SA2's ending for the first time again. so that counts for something i guess

Memento Mori 1999
I went in expecting a terrifying gore filled horror movie. instead i got something less scary but ultimately more compelling. unnerving and, at times, creepy, the horrors in this are more mundane; bullying, abuse, suicide, but that has left it to linger in my mind longer. the non linearity, surreal imagery and sometimes odd composition add to the disorientating feel of a movie that is, ultimately, about the horrors of feeling powerless as a teenage girl.
