A beautiful and crushingly sad movie that lays out the choices available to queer people for how to live our lives.
We can be open and unashamed about our identity like Jack, and risk losing jobs, the respect of others, or even our lives (unlikely, but still possible sadly).
Or we can hide and deny ourselves an authentic life like Ennis. We can try to fit into the mold that society so desperately wants us to and be miserable.
