"That one movie with the car chase" is so much more than that and very much underplays how epic the car chase is. This tight film is constantly gripping and never fails.

The perfect story of a rise and fall, narrated as beautifully as the curated soundtrack that accompanies it. It's literally giving truth to the expression "I could listen to [de Niro and Pesci] tell a yarn for hours". I watch this at least twice a year. It's music to me.

This is the perfect amount of bonkers. It's the right mix of trashy, watchable brilliance that reminds you what movies are all about. It's practically Hitchcockian, even in its self-indulgence, but that just makes it all the more fun to watch.

Perfect Blaxploitation bonkers filled with surprisingly artful shots, deliciously watchable performance from Yaphet Kotto and Nichelle Nichols, a film all Issac Hayes' own in his performance and especially the film score. It's empty calories perfection that still sticks to the ribs.
