  i absolutely KNOW i am seeing this film with a certain bias, thru rose-colored lenses because of how this film is a microcosm of my life at age 18 - a domineering mother, rejection from musical theatre, turbulent sexual awakening, and murderous escapist fantasies all having played a huge part in that era of my life, as in Pearl’s.

  but WHAT A FIL-UHM.

  5 stars in lieu of the two that Pearl and I could have been, plus the extra 3 for all the love that could have saved us from being the crazy violent girlies we are.

  persevering for both you and I, pearlie 😀

  finally! a film about a woman - for men!

  I really wanted to write a formal review for this film, but due to the psionic damage my mind incurred throughout its 3-hour runtime, and in keeping with its deranged spirit, i will instead present a disjointed list of notable points and ideas - most of them diabolically depraved, the coherent few stunning:

  - fleeting moments that show marilyn/norma's artistic growth & analytical mind
