Blue Velvet 1986
I still can’t tell if Jeffery is a pervert or a detective. probably both. This movie felt like a two hour distillation of many of the themes that would go on to make Twin Peaks the show that it was. Great soundtrack to compliment some truly horrific and shocking visuals that only Lynch could conjure up. A relatively straightforward story in this one as well which, as someone mostly unfamiliar with lynch’s movies, I am excited to see how it stacks up with the rest of his filmography.

Miller's Crossing 1990
This movie is the best comedy I’ve seen in a long time. This is also the best mob movie, and period piece, and the list can go on. This movie contains so much depth but that depth doesn’t drag you down into a slog of a film that you “ought to watch” and instead this movie is one that i will “want to watch” for a long time to come.
