If I wanted to watch Richard Gere have a steamy relationship with a woman young enough to be his daughter, I would have watched Pretty Woman.
I know five stars is bold, and typically I would agree that there is always room for improvement. But this film is just the definition of a classic, and I will continue to rewatch every fall. It has common character tropes that still read fresh, it’s predictable without being insulting to viewers, it’s dated in ways yet somehow still essentially relevant.
