Annihilation 2018
This film fell short to my expectations. It felt like the concept was introduced way ahead than it should be without establishing first the narrative. The whole film looked disentangled with a lot of parts left hanging.
Nevertheless, the film has offered something that woke my senses. Not all that are changing are destroying what’s already existing, but sometimes, it is merely making something new. It is a fresh take on alien, passive invasion. But the ending of the film…

Roma 2018
Wow that was what we call a cinematic experience. Though, part of me was disappointed because of its average plot (no attacks, please haha) but overall, I was extremely amazed by Yalitza and how the movie flowed from start to finish. My heart brimmed of emotions. But not to join the hype, I would rate this 1 star less from perfect mainly because I have preferences. Maybe I’m just accustomed to movies with well-thought out plots. But hats off to Cuaron for making a simple movie with so much soul and connection.

Us and Them 2018
It’s a pretty good movie. Sad plot, a telltale that had its viewers’ expectations fail in a good way. But I just think it failed to maximize its premise where I felt the movie had not reached its peak. Anticlimactic, per se. But I loved how this movie exuded emotions and heart. I also loved the cinematography and the characters’ portrayal.
