Wings of Desire 1987
Movie that is a poem that is a love letter to being human and letting yourself be touched and changed by life. A message I could have stood to learn the first time I watched this for German class years ago, but at the time I was so wrapped up in my angel/human Good Omens brainrot that I failed to see the forest for the trees. It will happen again, I'm sure!

This is a movie about seeing cathedrals. It's slow and I'm not really sure I could tell you what the plot is, or how much of one actually exists, but it's a beautiful slice of life in the most genuine way possible, probably. Melancholy and mellow but contentedly so.

CRAZY movie. I watched it immediately after watching Wings of Desire just to compare and holy shit. I'd say overall not horrible as a premise (definitely has a more modern love-story plot than wings of desire but, of course it does), and it was funny seeing shots and scenes lifted directly from WOD but with Nic Cage in late-90s LA instead of black and white 80s West Berlin.
