  I have been following this project since they were crowdfunding money for production and I was very hyped about them undertaking this topic. Sadly in the end there’s not much more than an attempt to shock the audience. (and also to tell us to feel shocked with constant cutting to the reactions of Klusak and crew - best demonstrated in the movie’s most wholesome moment when we once again cut to them to tell us 'yes feel like this')  …

  first half is great i loved that mix of claustrophobic feeling of trenches and bunkers with anxiety of open spaces and the way this is shot really intensifies that experience. but i felt that after the plane scene it somewhat lost the rhythm and was unsure of what to do until the end when it picked up the pace again and i was again on the edge of my seat. 

  also i felt like soundtrack is kinda chaotic? idk will see after rewatch.

  however it is visually very impressive and Deakins is the best (i’m just sad he didn’t get to work on Dune)
