The Nightingale 2018
Depressing and disturbing at times. Nevertheless, it's a great film. The only other film I've seen by Jennifer Kent was The Babadook, so this was definitely not what I expected.

My introduction to classic noir. Being a bit unfamiliar with 40s dialog and older movies in general, I definitely over thought this one a bit and probably missed a few key parts of character development. However, I really enjoyed the post-watch analysis reading on this one. In retrospect, it seems that the objectification of Laura must be self-aware and a purposeful commentary, which seems surprising given the time period.
