Arrival 2016
This was a slightly above average movie, didn’t think it was anything special. Not a huge fan of alien movies but this was pretty cool. I liked the subversive aspect of believing Louise’s future as the past for most of the movie. Once I caught onto the catch though, it felt pretty stagnant. Would’ve loved to see the eventual marital drama of Louise and Ian’s aforementioned divorce as well. I thought the whole “global unity” subtheme could’ve been a little less subtle too, but oh well. Enjoyable alien movie for first movie of 2025. 4/5

It's a Wonderful Life 1946
Just a beautiful movie. It was my first time viewing this film and gosh did I cry. One of the most moving pieces of cinema and it’s not even close.
Reminded me that life is truly the most beautiful thing.“No man is a failure who has friends”

Wicked 2024
As an avid hater of fantasy fiction movies and musicals, I somewhat enjoyed this movie. Ariana Grande plays possibly the most annoying and pestiferous character I’ve ever seen, so that figures. The singing is pretty dang good, especially by Elphiba (?). My sister (theatre kid) tells me that the movie is pretty true to the musical, so I agree with her. I can see why many people cry during this movie, the plotline gives you an alternate perspective from the…
