This is an interesting movie, it makes me feel uncomfortable but in an entertaining way. I want to see what happens next, the documentary style of the film creates this sense of unease. I really like Willem Dafoe’s character and how he’s able to deal with the main characters’ shenanigans. He completes the film for me. It would probably feel too uncomfortable if he wasn’t cast. The main character and her older sister are two very deplorable human beings but…

I like how stylish the film is and the fight scenes are awesome. The dialogue is good and straight to the point. Solid storytelling/motives. The action feels very realistic and the film just flows. I’d definitely watch it again.

So unwatchable, so unwatchable, there are pretty much no redeeming qualities in this movie. All of the jokes fall flat or just feel forced. The first Grown Ups movie, while it had its flaws, still had jokes that at least made sense and showed some form of a conscious effort. But this sequel feels like it has a completely different cast that don’t really know or understand each other. Grossly underdone.

I like a lot about this film. As with other Pixar films it feels grounded in reality despite being about superheroes. It displays the often mundane things about family and parenthood and careers in a humorous and human way. The character dynamics feel authentic though it’s still entertaining for children. The writing doesn’t coddle or pander to children but it feels real and is still entertaining. I like the action in this movie as well as the story. The villain’s intent feels realistic and the ending leaves the audience wanting more. This is a great film!
