Really had my gripes with this thriller. While it started off decently compelling, it really was the naive and stupid persistence of the protagonist that got to me. The plot also became too predictable.
I felt like there were so many more avenues for further character development or storyline progression, but these were not built on. I didn't know the purpose of most characters.
The moral conundrum behind "bad samaritan" was not fully realised either. Action-wise, this was fairly subpar.…
A great film retelling of Iphigenia in Aulis - it was a masterful interpretation of a classic Greek tragedy. This psychological thriller was not scary per se but it did do a great job in making feel unsettled. The theme/characters/scenes were worth analysing, although the film was apparently written as a comedy; perhaps the scenes were not intended to have much significance aside from Lanthimos finding them funny.

An incredible portrayal of the horrors of war by telling them through the lens of the pure innocence and naivety of a child, who is comedically brainwashed by propaganda. While obviously satirical, this film portrays the inherent dangers of propaganda and how belief systems are so easily moulded according what the State wants, in a time of war.
