Splendid. Jim Carrey is at the height of his powers, so many great bits from him. A very effective adaptation of one of the great games of all time, Sonic Adventure 2. The finale is epic and I left the theater in a great mood.
I won't bother to discuss the plot, character, or themes. It's just fun. If you like fun, you'll like this movie.
Very slow, but reasonably faithful to the source material. The sets and locations felt rather authentic and gave an impression of realism. The leads were very well cast and turned in excellent performances.
The issue is pacing, script, and shortcomings of editing and sound. Odysseus is very depressed and appears to lack the determination and heroism that would have been needed to make it through 20 years of war and wandering.

A total classic. The new 4k disc is rightly criticized for the air brushed look, all in the name of removing grain. A shame, because the movie otherwise looks and sounds pretty good. Anyways, you get used to it after the first half hour or so. I will say, I was a bit disappointed with the sound mixing here. It's lacking punchiness, the gunshots don't cut through the soundscape as they should.

Godzilla Minus One is a serious contender for the best film in the long running series. It is, without a doubt, the most emotionally powerful Godzilla film and has, in my opinion, the best human story.
Set in some of Japan's darkest years, the story is about choosing to hope for the future in the face of a bleak and hopeless reality.
