For a movie called Maestro, where is all the music? Where is the magic that made LB who he was? Everything important about Bernstein was one or two lines mentioned in passing and the whole substance of the film was wishy-washy at best. There was no through-line and no weight to anything. If you didn’t already know about LB and his life then what was the point? Sad that his life was not highlighted with the importance that it deserved.
