“Cops or criminals, when you face a loaded gun, what’s the difference?”

Watched this for St. Patrick’s Day because Jack Nicholson’s Frank Costello is Irish excellence. 

Not Scorcese’s best by any means, but having to adapt a previous Hong Kong film (Infernal Affairs) nicely gives Scorcese a tight narrative structure that limits his impulses to meander too much, resulting in a pretty well written film. 

Great cast, with a surprisingly impressive performance by Wahlberg in particular. One more added to the Boston Cinematic Universe.

An entire society of submental ghouls shooting and evicting and beating Palestinians up with impunity and revelling in their own cruelty. Israel will burn the whole world down for the most garish subdivisions you’ve ever seen. Deeply rotten society to the core. 

The end for that country can’t come soon enough.

Life is a lot like a casino. Sometimes you win and more often you lose, but either ways a group of fat geriatric Italians in a smoke-filled back room of a deli always get paid.
