Who doesn’t like seeing Nazis get mowed down by the hundred?
This movie suffers from an Empty Protagonist Syndrome where the main guy is essentially an empty vessel for the more notable actors (in this case Pitt, Bernthal, Pena, LeBeouf) to bounce off. Many such cases.
Also, not enough tank battles I’m afraid. We get one set piece of a platoon of Shermans vs a Tiger but in a film about tanks thay’s not enough we need tank on tank…

Watched this for St. Patrick’s Day because Jack Nicholson’s Frank Costello is Irish excellence.
Not Scorcese’s best by any means, but having to adapt a previous Hong Kong film (Infernal Affairs) nicely gives Scorcese a tight narrative structure that limits his impulses to meander too much, resulting in a pretty well written film.
Great cast, with a surprisingly impressive performance by Wahlberg in particular. One more added to the Boston Cinematic Universe.
An entire society of submental ghouls shooting and evicting and beating Palestinians up with impunity and revelling in their own cruelty. Israel will burn the whole world down for the most garish subdivisions you’ve ever seen. Deeply rotten society to the core.
The end for that country can’t come soon enough.
