  "Mr. Malick, how many scenes in the tall grass do you want to shoot?"
  "Yes"

  Malick's underlying idea seems to be that of a primal love that allows Western men to bond with the indigenous people, inspiring a new world mended from colonial rapacity.
  However, despite the certainly evocative pure images that serves as a counterpoint to a fragmented narrative, the development of this idea is done with a rather didactic and weak cinematic involvement, at times bordering dangerously on certain romantic clichés.
