Best film of 2025, so far. I aspire to be as steely as Cate Blanchett and as emotionally detached as Michael Fassbender in my daily life. Oh, and I also want access to their closet - what great outfits!

I’m still processing my overall opinion of the film. However, I can’t deny the greatness of the filmmaking, and especially Robert Pattinson’s performance. I was captivated by what was on the screen, but I’m not sure if I loved it.

I know Scorsese hates comic book films, which irks me, BUT he truly is the greatest to ever do it. I worried about how he would adapt the book, which is fantastic, but he made a film that is different, yet still amazing. Lily Gladstone deserves all the praise, but I was most impressed by De Niro - it’s his best performance in years, maybe decades. I loved this film and I may just watch it again in theaters. Highly recommended.

Although the pacing was problematic at times, I loved the film’s heart. There were some very beautiful quiet moments. Paul Giamatti was terrific, but I was most impressed with Dominic Sessa. It’s always nice to see young talent shine.
