A great epic by a master of the craft! As good as the first? Probably not, but still a fun ride beginning to end with some great twists and terrific performances by Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal and Denzel Washington who steals the show

Eff the critics! Yes it's rough around the edges--with an occasional crack--but it's far from bad. I found myself thoroughly enjoying the action sequences and a decent enough story that thankfully gets the origin story out of the way quickly (and is coincidentally the weakest part of the movie). I'll be getting this one on Blu-ray when I can

After a bit of a rocky start, it tells an exciting tale in the history of Rohan, retold by Eowyn. I'd have to say it's my favorite LOTR entry since Desolation of Smaug. If we can expect more tales from Middle-Earth going forward, I'm in.

Thought it was just okay overall. I can’t wrong it on any front, however. It was well made, shot beautifully with very strong performances by the three leads, but the story just worked better as a book. And that’s only thing I have against it
