  Happy International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers. Why do so many men love making films about female sex workers? Maybe it’s not your story to tell? I see that all the cinephile dudes that I follow really enjoyed it, all gave it a lot of stars, good for them haha

  Of course the depiction of these parades should only be recognized as one aspect of the gay/identity politics of the late 70’s – the very romantic and idealized one. Nevertheless I cannot believe how much vitality it contained. So many beautiful people coming together in this film expressing very simple and somehow unspoiled thoughts on individual freedom and togetherness. Watching this while in lockdown is something else... Ready to bring this energy out with me when the world reopens! <3

  “You don’t exist” the former vagabond, now goat farmer tells her. With no history, no future, no ID, Mona’s autonomous existence becomes so complete it almost dissolves her into a non-existence.
  Yet she somehow exists, and she leaves a great mark on the people she meets, impressing them, sometimes shivering them, with her ungraspable existence.
  The goat farmer later tells the camera: “By proving she is useless, she helps a system she rejects”. But Mona doesn’t reject with political intent.…
