I enjoyed this movie but was definitely expecting more? Robert Pattinson and Naomi Ackie’s performances were really enjoyable but some other’s (namely Mark Ruffalo’s) were a smidge over the top for me. Now obviously this movie is essentially a satire about colonialism but that doesn’t mean I have to completely enjoy the satire part! I think my opinion of this movie definitely suffered because I feel like I’ve been seeing a lotta movies that use satire as it’s medium to tell stories and maybe I’m kinda over it right now. Worth the watch but I wouldn’t watch it again.

I watched this movie because of the director’s upcoming film staring Robert Pattinson hoping to get a taste of what I could expect from this director’s style. It was awesome. The fun and banter filled dialogue pulled me in immediately and the cinematography was fantastic but ultimately I can’t really articulate why I liked this movie at the moment.. it was just really good! Makes me wanna watch more foreign films

The director had a lotta fun making this and I’m happy for him but unfortunately I didn’t find this movie as funny as the guy sitting behind me in the theater. This movie was made for him! Not me!
