I wanted to be blown away and I wanted to love this. Unfortunately, it didn’t hit for me the way it did for others.
The movie was only okay. It would have been every scene kid’s favorite movie in 2005, though.

Superb acting and dialogue that carried the story well. The cinematography was stunning and captured the essence of what I can only imagine the 1970s felt like.

Both Alana Haim and Cooper Hoffman blew me away, delivering lines so naturally, one could feel their conversations were real and not scripted.

This film is nearly perfect. It feels unjust to say anything negative. [Spoiler alert: I enjoyed seeing the way Gary and Alana’s characters develop; how the age difference between them is almost…

This is the second Theodoros Angelopoulos film I’ve watched in the last month, the first being Eternity and a Day (1998), and I am in absolute awe by Angelopoulos’ work already.

This film was particularly striking, its imagery complemented the story telling impeccably, especially when there was little dialogue for long stretches of time; It is as if Angelopoulos used each setting as its own character, adding depth to each scene. However, when Voula, Alexander and Orestis did speak, their lines were nothing short of poetry.

    I really loved this film.
