Some good performances and great atmosphere. Different casting choices and way more of the historical detail would put this on par with The VVitch or The Lighthouse. Issues that started with The Northman have been exacerbated here, mainly from the wide scope of the story. Unfortunately the lead performances from Depp and Hault are much less engaging than Taylor-Joy and Skarsgard. Higher highs but lower lows than the Northman.
