  The fact that this came out in 2019 is astonishing. It feels like one of those old 80s educational videos that still got shown in elementary school in the 2000s, after the vhs player was wheeled into the classroom. This movie is just a bunch of old dudes, so called Young experts who "studied his life", sharing their long winded opinions. No interviews with past bandmembers or anyone remotely interesting in my opinion.

  European travel propaganda for lonely folks.

  I thought Julie Delpy's character was pretty groovy and had some interesting ideas/perspectives. Unfortunately Ethan Hawke's character rubbed me the wrong way and I just couldn't get invested in this movie. Half of his lines seemed like some self depreciating or pseudo philosophical performance that'd he'd put on for every girl he'd ever met.

  The fortune teller scene made me cringe but I think it's because it reminded me of myself in the past.…
