I find the transphobia allegations a strange way to view a piece that is so uninterested in exploring the subject at face value, as it’s more concerned with something far less simplistic—actors who can’t help but disown the parts of their lives…

What other way to follow up one of the most widely divisive and discussed blockbusters ever made with a $200m courtroom musical that straight up insults the people who hated the original and the people who loved it all the same. The first film is so misunderstood by everyone including its fans, so having this be the response to its reception is really a stroke of genius on Todd Phillips’…
It’s wonderful to see big budget sci-fi from someone who knows how to make real movies! Even though it has its shortcomings (Ruffalo’s imitation of Trump and Kai’s character really needed some rewrites), I loved the silliness of the story and Pattinson’s excellent performance. A great time at the movies.
Immediately canonized as one of the greatest animated films ever made. A step forward for digital animation in many ways, mainly for the camera which operates unlike any I have seen, adding so much more to immersion than the realistic CG of American films. One of those “life is beautiful” type of films that just accomplishes everything it sets out to do… almost like those early Pixar shorts that really demonstrate the beauty of simple situations but simultaneously expanded into an epic adventure.
One of those cinematic experiences to remember for a lifetime. You could seriously talk about this for days on end but why do that when you could just watch it and feel everything? Every time I see this I fall into complete euphoria and feel the need to appreciate my mere existence. What a picture.
